David left his fragrance Company Quest International, (now Givaudan) but with their help, and that of CPL Aromas, began the essential alchemy of creating Scents of Time. With the financial backing of well- known city entrepreneurs Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis, aromancer David has realised his dream in bringing these marvellous scents to the world for all to enjoy.
In producing PETALS ©, and giving a full fragrance description of what is in the bottle, David is also attempting to de-mystify the wonderful world of scent, and, as with the wine industry, help people better appreciate their purchase by education.
To date five fragrances have been launched:
NENUFAR Cleopatra's Sacred Scent
PYXIS The lost perfume of Pompeii
MAYA Mystic scent of the Americas
NIGHT STAR Fragrance of the Future- Inspired by RMS Titanic find
In 2010 and 2011 the fragrances CHRISM (linked to Joan of Arc and the anointing oil of European monarchy) and AURUM (perfume of the ancient Olympics) will be launched.
The fragrances have faithfully reproduced actual findings, formulae from temple walls and floral perfumes that were sacred to the ancients.
As a rose is still a rose, and the human nose and sense of smell hasn’t changed much over thousands of years, these fragrances are well appreciated by today’s modern perfume lovers.
But more than that, with each perfume is a 20-30 page booklet explaining its provenance, and educating the reader as to what modern family of designer perfume the Scents of Time creations are like.
The creations are made by the largest fragrance Company on the planet and by top perfumers to a very strict brief provided by Mr. Pybus. Indeed the latest scent, NIGHT STAR, was created by a perfumer who now works for Chanel in Paris. They are all Eau de Parfums and meet all global quality standards.
The perfumes have proved to have very successful sales in UK museums and this has made Scents of Time visit Museum Expressions to establish more global outlets for sales, particularly in Europe and the USA.
